In 2016 we started a public conversation to ask city officials in Burlington to care about having youth-led cultural space (they closed 242 Main that year). We’ve been working on pulling together the resources that will help make a new youth-led space possible in the city and some of this energy is captured at http://www.bigheavyworld.com/242main. We’re in a fresh era of awareness about what it means to empower young people and create safe spaces, so extra work is going into making this kind of resource possible.
