Description: This panel will explore current issues on the rights of artists as owners of music and sound recordings on how income is earned and collected for artists domestically and internationally, with a focus on the performance of the masters and music on digital platforms, such as Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and YouTube Audio, that provide interactive streaming, non-interactive streaming, conditional downloads, and permanent downloads services, including explaining neighboring rights for masters outside of the United States and the newly established Mechanical Licensing Collective, which began its operation on January 1, 2021 under the provisions of the Music Modernization Act.
