Make Music Day 2020: Registration is Live!
Registration for this year’s virtual Make Music Day is live! If you have an idea for a socially distant musical event, register it at vt.makemusicday.org.
Live-streams, micro-marching bands, and porch performances are encouraged. Other ideas from around the country include virtual shower singing, song composition relays, and producers live-streaming their creative process.
The novel situation the pandemic has forced us into has created an entirely new environment for sharing music. On June 21, we will likely see varieties of performances never seen before: apartment symphonies with each musician playing from their own balcony, metal bands head-banging in their bathroom for a silent and invisible crowd of online viewers, and guitar battles being from opposing sidewalks.
Some new ideas may become Make Music VT staples for years to come!
No matter how strange your idea sounds, it’s worth pursuing! Now’s the time to get creative!
