The Red Newts at The Ramble After Party
So you’ve just spent the whole day enjoying all that the Old North End Ramble has to offer, but you still want more music? Well, look no further than the annual Ramble After Party at Olde Northender Pub featuring The Red Newts and friends!
Now entering its sixth year of amphibious fun, the After Party at Olde Northender will spin you into a country-funk! The Newts play a blend of country, blues, and soul which take inspiration from the music of the Green Mountains and the Mississippi river delta. This year’s Newts includes some regulars, as well as a few efts. Lewis Gillies (keys), Jackie Buttolph (vocals), Danny LeFrancois (guitar), Chad Bigelow (bass), and Scott Maynard (drums) will perform alongside regulars Sarah Cutler (vocals) and Nick Losito (guitar).
The Red Newts recently released two EPs off their upcoming album, ‘This Lonesome Town.’ The two singles are available on their Bandcamp. The complete album arrives in September, along with their EP release show. The date of both is TBA, but the location of the release show will also be at the Olde Northender as a tribute to the band’s origins'; legend says that Nick Losito got the idea for the band while teetering on an Olde Northender barstool.
The Newt’s will get you dancing, even if you spent all day rambling!
