Middlebury Festival on the Green July 7-13th!
Are you ready to keep the party going with more free music festivities? Come out and join us at the 41st Annual Middlebury Festival on the Green from July 7th-13th! This FREE, family-friendly event is brought to you by the help of extraordinary volunteers and community donors. This event includes jazz ensembles, acoustic folk inspired music, funk, dance, and even a magic show! Family friendly events are “Brown Bag” performances that will be held at noon until 1PM. The Festival is a 2019 Vermont Chamber of Commerce Top 10 Summer Event. It will be held rain or shine. Performers for these events hail from all over the world, including Europe and Canada, as well as local artists from Vermont!
Starting on SUNDAY, July 7th at 7PM, Sam Reider and the Human Hands will be performing on his accordion! Beginning as a Jazz pianist and now a roots musician, he has a long history of performing. After being featured on NPR and Lincoln Center, he and his band have played at festivals in the U.S. and U.K. and now they have brought their magic to Middlebury! MONDAY, July 8th at noon, Rik Palieri will perform a multi-instrument act that includes a fret-less banjo, 12-string guitar, and the music of the Lead-Belly-style. With an interesting mix of Polish bagpipes, an Ozark mouth bow, and a Native American flute, this show will have a finale with a Yodel sing along. Visit them at rikpalieri.com.
At 7PM, the vocal ensemble that has serenaded the world, Windborne, will be leaving the Middlebury speechless. With a wide range of music styles, they mainly focus on American folk. This music group does not just sing; they also inform their audiences on the traditions and technicalities of their performance. This group is sure to entertain and educate! Later that evening, July 8that 8:30PM, Bon Débarras will take to the stage to wow us with their music, dance, and poetry that is based in Quebecois tradition with influences from all over the globe. TUESDAY, July 9th, at noon Jon Gailmor will use humor and emotion to move the crowd. This music will entertain and astonish anyone that comes out to this iconic performance. Visit them at jongailmor.com.
At 7PM, The Small Glories, will be performing their singer-songwriter music along with their signature banter. This duo is sure to make the audience feel at home with their life inspired lyrics through the music of the banjo, guitar, and harmonica. Visit them at thesmallglories.com.
At 8:30PM, July 9th, the Heather Pierson Acoustic Trio will feature a wide variety of instruments, such as the upright bass, mandolin, and fiddle. Their music is combination of folk, jazz, and blues. WEDNESDAY, July 10th at noon, No Strings Marionette Company will present their performance titled “Nick of Time.” This group will entertain and teach people of all ages with their talented puppets! At 7PM, The Joe Davidian Trio featuring Amber de Laurentis will be performing their traditional jazz music as well as original works. Beginning their career together in 2000, this group has released three albums and continues to create more meaningful music! Visit them at joedavidiantrio.com.
At 8:30PM on July 10th, the Matt Flinner Trio will be playing their creation of bluegrass music that has taken them around the U.S. and Europe since starting their group in 2006. THURSDAY, July 11th at noon, Chris Yerlig of Mimealot! Will bring his performance to Vermont from his European origins and long history of traveling performance. His mime routine has been praised in countless countries across the globe. Visit them at mimealot.com.
THURSDAY, July 11th, at 7PM, the female led group, OKAN will being coming down from Toronto to play Afro-Cuban and other traditionally male-dominated types of music. Both women have been Grammy-nominees and JUNO-nominees. Now, they will inspire Middlebury! Visit them at okanmusica.com.
Later that day, July 11th, at 8:30PM, LowDown Brass Band will be performing its New Orleans and Chicago inspired music with the help of trumpets, trombones, and saxophones. This group has wowed Chicago and is definitely going to wow Vermont audiences! Visit them at lowdownbrassband.com.
FRIDAY, July 12th at 11:30AM, MCMC House of Rock Campers will provide the audience with their music for all ages. Visit them at mcmcvt.org.

At 7PM, Soule Monde will be providing Vermont with funk music! This duo will get feet moving with their jazz inspiration and creative sound. They have played at Bonnaroo, multiple late night TV shows, and have performed with countless music icons. Visit them at soulemonde.com.
At 8:30PM, July 12th, Big Night will keep us dancing with their New Orleans and Texas inspired music. Their inspiration came from Cajun and western traditions as well as modern influence. SATURDAY, July 13th, 7PM, the Vermont Jazz Ensemble will bring its classic jazz music to us from all corners of the state!
