Songevity at Burlington Discover Jazz Festival 2013
Songevity is the product of Rob Duguay, and is a jazz trio based in Burlington. Duguay, a University of Vermont graduate, began playing bass guitar in a jazz ensemble his senior year of high school, after a nine-year stint on the classical piano.
Duguay himself was influenced by both the jazz greats like Duke Ellington and Scott Colley, as well as those he has recorded with-“many others who gave it to me straight; no chaser,” he says. Songevity’s plans include an East coast tour, a European tour beginning in October, and composing and trying out new music. Duguay is very enthusiastic about Jazz Fest 2013: “I am very excited to make some nice music with the band, to see old friends, and enjoy the beautiful town of Burlington!” Check out Songevity on June 5th on City Hall Stage from 6:30-8:15pm, or Radio Bean from 11pm-1am. They are also playing at Nectar’s on Main Street from 5-7pm on June 6!
