The Eames Brothers On 'Tazday Twilight Blues' 4/5/11
Words and Photos by Julie Jay Seger.
The 'Tazday Twilight Blues' show welcomed Ralph (left) and Seth Eames (right) of the Eames Brothers Band last night on 105.9 F.M. The Radiator. Visiting the show for a second time, the brothers played a bluesy, soulful set for us and our lovely listeners out there in Radioland. Both brothers plugged in for a bolder 'mountain blues' sound, with Seth on guitar, harmonica and vocals, and Ralph holding it down on bass.
With recent appearances at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, and a gig opening for Grace Potter and The Nocturnals in D.C., the brothers have been busy noddin' heads with their tunes that pack some serious soul. The Eames Brothers also have a new album, 'Down To Change,' available for download on their website. The disc features Matt Burr on drums, Ron Rost and Ryan Power on organ, and Jay Sperling on guitar. The brothers also mentioned the possibility of a live album, but need to nail down some of their freshest material for that to happen. Those listening to 'Tazday Twilight Blues' heard live renditions of "Bringing Me Back," "In Between Two Worlds," "Headin' Out," "As The Crow Flies," and "One In The Morning."
If you're yearning for some Eames Brothers, you can see them perform this Friday, 4/8 at the Langdon Street Cafe in Montpelier. They'll also be playing Saturday, 4/9 for Goddard College radio station, WGDH 91.7 FM's Signal Launch Party at the Hardwick Town House from 3 to 9:30 P.M. Celebrating Goddard's new radio transmitting tower, the event will be a family affair with food vendors, door prizes and the chance to socialize with some of Vermont's finest musicians. Support the Eames Brothers and Goddard College by checking out this exciting event! Thanks again to Ralph and Seth Eames for hanging out on 105.9 FM The Radiator, 'Tazday Twilight Blues' every Tuesday night from 8 to 9 P.M.
