20 years ago, George Nostrand wandered into Rutland, VT wearing a beat-up green hat, carrying a well-loved guitar in hand. Since then he's hosted open mic nights, booked and promoted concert series and written about music and events for the Rutland Herald. George released a solo album (featuring 20 guest musicians), “Radio Songs” in 2005, an album with his band, George’s Back Pocket, in 2011 and a third CD with a new band, Miss Guided Angels, in the fall of 2018. He was the recipient of the 2010 Cider Mag Lifetime Achievement award, for his advocacy of local music. Over the years, George has opened for artists including Lui Collins, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Lee Roy Parnell, and members of Sister Hazel. Last year George also started a new business, a rehearsal space and DIY recording studio called, A Sound Space.
