Andriana Chobot and Joshua Glass joined host Tom Proctor on ‘Rocket Shop‘, Big Heavy World’s weekly local Vermont music radio hour on 105.9FM The Radiator. You can catch up with Andriana on her book of faces facebook.com/AndrianaChobotmusic. Find Joshua Glass’ music at www.joshuaglassmusic.com.

Andriana Chobot and Joshua Glass are two separate artists and songwriters collaborating as one pair to put their musical talents in harmony. Josh considers music to be what keeps him sane; that a chorus or beat will get in his head and the desire to play will become overwhelming. It began with Josh playing privately for people in their homes, an endeavor he described as feeling “somewhat creepy” from the nature of performing alone in someone else’s private space. To this end, Andriana joined to both do away with the “somewhat creepy” vibes and bring ever more attention to the music. Thus, their dynamic duo was born.

Alongside working with Josh, Andriana remains in a trio of fellow musicians both locally and not, having rooted herself in the genre of jazz. She considers herself a perfectionist in terms of specific elements of the musical process, particularly in recording the vocals to her songs, and values the confidence that performing brings in the moment. As a unit, Josh and her work separately on their own songs while sharing input, alongside a feature here and there.

Andriana and Josh pride their music on being catchy and “all about the hooks.” To this end, the tune and/or beat of their songs always have a habit of sticking in the mind after. The songs they performed for Big Heavy World perfectly compliment not just this, but also the vibrant and jazzy tone that they strive for. “Treat Me Like a Joke” showcases their classic piano-jazz vibes, with lyrics and a beat that made it feel like an old-school break up song, while songs like “Galaxy Eyes” evoke a spacial, almost psychedelic and dreamlike feel that can ease anyone down; and the appropriately titled “Coffee,” which moves with a heartbeat-like energy that reaches for and exceeds their bar of “all about the hooks.”

As both separate artists and with their powers combined, Andriana Chobot and Joshua Glass continue to perform and showcase their talents across Burlington, working on their own projects whilst comparing notes (both written and musical). They can be found performing at local piano bars and open music spaces at large with no end in sight.
