In only a couple days, Sara Grace will be releasing her new single, “Smoke Screen.” On August 1, the song will premier during a performance—both live and virtually—in Montpelier. The event be live on Sara Grace’s Facebook, and in-house seats are available via invite for an extremely lucky few.

We’re spotlighting this event in particular because Big Heavy World will also be joining in on the stream. Tune into 105.9FM this Saturday at 8pm to hear Sara Grace and Ben Dunham perform alongside the band Anachronist.

The single was inspired by the music community’s evolution during the pandemic. As music went online and stage lights went out, the artform was challenged in an unprecedented manner. The song highlights how music adapted: its embracing of social media and the struggles that come with change. According to Sara Grace and her team, “‘Smoke Screen’ is a tribute to the evolution of music and to the people who create it in a time of crisis.”

The act of writing the song during the pandemic has been “profound,” she adds. And although she wishes that we, her fans, could join her shoulder-to-shoulder in a dimly lit bar for a more intimate performance, she’s content to deliver the next best thing and stream the release party straight to our homes.

If you want to hear the party, tune into 105.9FM, or to Sara Grace’s Facebook livestream, at 8pm on Saturday, August 1.
