Twenty-One Years in the Making
Think it takes you a long time to record an album? Meet Stephen Holt and Jeremy Mendicino, who are finishing up a record that is twenty-one years in the making. This has been a long time coming for the high school friends, who began as a band called Pdiddle with friend Mike Grenon in the 90s. They proved their talent early on, winning the Buzz High School Homebrew Battle of the Bands. With some new confidence under their belts, they began recording their first album in 1999.
Things came to a halt for Pdiddle when Holt and Mendicino graduated, ending their high-school music careers. However, they remained friends, and finding themselves back in Burlington in recent years, the conversation about recording began to resurface. The pair didn’t have the time to finish the album, but March brought coronavirus and changed that. “As life slowed down, we recognized it as an opportunity to finish the record we started twenty-one years ago,” says Holt.
Forming a two-man group and adopting the new name HUES, Holt and Mendicino finished recording for their first album on October 15th and say they are now hard at work in the editing, mixing, and mastering process. You can follow their Facebook to check out their newest work and stay updated on the new album.
