Mohawk Bob Emery Scholarship Sponsors Music Session for Local Musicians in Rutland
Thanks to a generous donation, local music fan Bob Emery, and A Sound Space, a Rutland-based rehearsal space will provide 3 hours of rehearsal time (no recording) for a chosen band. George Nostrand of A Sound Space will be present for assisting with equipment set up and running sound. A Sound Space is a safe, affordable, and accessible practice space for bands that has a 24-channel mixer, a power amp, monitors, two drum kits, a bass amp and other gear that allows bands to walk in to the space with their instruments and "plug-and-play."
A Sound Space will soon have a recording interface, which will allow an engineer to come in with a laptop, plug-in to our system and record. There are accessible microphones. Previous sessions that have taken place at A Sound Space include a hip-hop artist, a steel drum with vocalist, and an acoustic duo. These previous musicians have brought in their own interface and laptops to record. A Sound Space also has an in-house engineer who is willing to do projects within the rehearsal space.
