This Saturday, June 25: The Eat More Kale Festival, a project of Justin Hoy (Halogen/Northeast Music Production), Bo Muller-Moore (Founder of Eat More Kale.com) and Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks. It's a family friendly festival geared toward Vermont’s love of 'farm fresh,' music, and the arts! The festival runs from 10:30am-11:30pm and is stacked with children's activities, great vendors, and amazing workshops, perfect for the Vermont community. Starting with the musical line-up, for the price, you will not be able to attend a festival with so much talent for as inexpensively as the EMKfest team has developed. In addition to Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band, Gang of Thieves, Dwight & Nicole (Just off a tremendous BDJF performance), Hayley Jane & The Primates, and Steady Betty, some of Vermont's other favorites like The Aerolites, Binger, Lake Superior, Afri-VT, New Nile Orchestra, and Aaron Flinn will appear on one of the 2 stages with sound provided by Vermont Sound and Light & MadTech Sound, stages by Vermont Family Festivals, and Lighting by Dubtek Productions.
Workshops & Children's activities will be presented between 12pm and 5pm and will feature topics sure to be of interest to a wide variety of tastes.

Dwight & Nicole
Nicole Nelson and Dwight Ritcher make up the critically acclaimed, American indie-soul/blues band DWIGHT & NICOLE. Recipients of the 2016 Band of The Year award from the New England Music Awards, and the Boston Music Award's Female Vocalist of the Year. Their single “I Need Love” was named one of the Songs of the Year by the Boston Herald and Nicole, coined “The Voice of Vermont” in a cover story printed in the Burlington Free Press. Aaron Flinn
Elements of folk, indie rock and classic country combine with powerful vocals, poetic lyrics and finger-picking guitar. An eclectic group of americana and rock songs, with an emphasis on lyrical substance and performance from the soul. Aaron began playing and writing in high school. He won numerous competitions in performance and writing throughout his time at UVM and Berklee College of Music (where he graduated Magna Cum Laude - for what it's worth). He has gone onto release an impressive body of original work, all the while touring such hallowed venues as Red Rocks Amphitheater, The Great American Music Hall and many House of Blues and working with the likes of The Samples, Gov't Mule, Joe Bonamassa, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Don McLean and Tragically Hip to name but a few.

The group was created and is lead by Vermont's original drum and dance D'moja drummer, William Noel and master drummer Thoikho Diagne from Senegal, Africa. Afri-Vt embodies traditional West African rythyms and songs from the diaspora . The group features international musicians from around the world as well as some of Vermont's best musicians. Afri-Vt showcases a variety of instruments including the djembe, dun dun, sangban, kenkeni, keyboards, ballaphone, drum set, congas, kora, electric bass guitar and more african percussion.
