Intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. Binger have been playing some great shows lately, both in Burlington and all around. They have a brand new song that features Stephanie Heaghney on vocals, and the usual spiritually alive lyrics. Let’s take a listen.

1.) If I knew – Binger 2.) We Shall Overcome – Bernie Sanders 3.) Freeway – David Rosane and the Zookeepers 4.) This Land Is Your Land – VT Artists

I just love the version of the classic that Kat WrightBob Wagner, and lots of others put together to honor Bernie Sanders and to stand behind him. Freeway has a revolutionary spirit, in a Bernie kind of way. I caught David last night at Radio Bean and enjoyed the two songs I heard. He is playing a Bernie benefit in West Newbury on Saturday. Classic from the album Bernie recorded back in the ’80’s. We get to vote for him on Tuesday here in Vermont. Last night, I went out to Higher Ground to see the Wee Folkestra. I don’t have any of their music, but many members of the band played on this album.

5.) A Quiet Pun – Joe Adler 6.) Foxy – Abbie Morin 7.) What’s In California? – Josh Glass 8.) Gold In California – The Red Telephone

I love that new Telephone song. Sean, from the band, played a great show last night at Radio Bean with his new band The Nancy Druids. I caught Josh Glass at the Marriott last Saturday and really enjoyed the show. He did a great version of that song. I caught the first set by Abbie Gail at Nectar’s last Saturday after Josh and loved it. OK, let’s play the last song from Red Flannel Hash.

9.) Where Do We Go? – Black Rabbit 10.) Affection – Guppyboy 11.) My New Mixtape – Eef 12.) Knucklehead – Screaming Broccoli

Classic from Borccoli. Such a fun song. Great new song from Eef. Guppy were a big influence on the Burlington scene in the ’90’s. Great song and album from Rabbit. I saw this band a while ago at Metal Monday and they are coming back to play Nectar’s this Monday. This is dedicated to my brother Ken who is going to the show with me.

13.) Descent Into The Maelstrom – Holy Grail 14.) No Way – Phantom Suns 15.) We Need Bigger Knives – As We Were 16.) Finder – Rocketsled

Great cover of the Madelines song from Rocket. I haven’t seen As We Were for a while but always enjoy them when I do. Killer song from Phantom who have been playing a ton of shows lately. What a rocker from Grail. That should be fun on Monday. This next band come to town every year or so. They are coming back in May with a new album. Here is one of the new songs.

17.) Paycheck – Slingshot Dakota 18.) I Need A Raise – Cave Bees 19.) Morning Again – Doll Fight 20.) Yardsale – Lendway

I miss Lendway. Great rocker from Doll Fight. Don’t we all Cave Bees, don’t we all? Killer new song from Dakota. Is it May yet? Last week I played a song from the new Gregory Douglass album. I dug into it a bit more this week and really liked this one.

21.) The Great Wide – Gregory Douglass 22.) Never Cry – David Rosane and the Zookeepers 23.) Endless War – Jeremy Gilchrist 24.) This Machine – Invisible Homes

Never is another cool song from David. The lyrics suggested the Homes song, and Homes are playing The Monkey House tomorrow. Never also suggested the Jeremy Gilchrist song so I though it would be cool to line those up like that. OK, time for a couple more. Here is another new live song from When Particles Collide.

25.) Storm Cloud – When Particles Collide 26.) That’s When I Reach For My Revolver – Ninja Custodian

I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
