I just got back from my local music radio show on internet only WBKM. Last week I had it well together but this week the work time change hours from the last couple of weeks are really catching up. I slacked and did a short show then filled the rest of the time with Bowie songs, which I might have done anyway.
Songs before:Suffragette City – David Bowie It Ain’t Easy – David Bowie

intro
From our small city to the great big world these are The Sounds Of Burlington. It’s not as bustling in town this week but is a beautiful mellow night. I want to apologize since I think tonight is going to be a bit of a shorter show. My whole work schedule changed a couple of weeks ago and working early mornings Monday to Friday is taking some getting used to. I’m not sure if the change is permanent or temporary, but I’ll get used to it soon. Last Friday I got to see four great bands. This first band played another stunning show at The Skinny Pancake.
1.) If You Get Lost – Swale 2.) The Saddest Man – Myra Flynn 3.) Spi-Fy – Barbacoa 4.) A Quiet Pun – Joe Adler & The Rangers Of Danger
Joe Adler and the Rangers played a wonderful show at Nectar’s last Friday. Myra opened and I picked up her Half Pigeon album and Saddest really jumped out. In hindsight I should have not left Barbacoa so soon, they played after Swale at the Pancake, but I thought the timing was tighter and Myra’s band was pretty amazing. Sometimes there is too much music in town. OK, let’s play the next song on Red Flannel Hash.
5.) Blue Sky – Black Rabbit 6.) Statistik – The Mountain Says No 7.) Swing The Gavel – Elephants of Scotland 8.) Gettin High – Heavy Plains
Plains are playing at The Monkey House tomorrow and I’m very psyched for the show. I love that new Elephants song. Mountain played a couple of stunning sets at Zen Lounge last Saturday. I love the Rabbit song, and all of their songs. I just got this next song last week and played it on last weeks show. I liked it so much I want to play it again.
9.) Barstools (live) – Abbie Morin 10.) Wiser – And The Kids 11.) Ladybug – Ninja Custodian 12.) Elanor Rigby – Screaming Broccoli
What a fun rocking cover by the late ’80’s Burlington band. I miss Ninja. Kids are out and touring the country. If they come to your town, go! Great song from Abbie Gail. This is another great Burlington classic.
13.) Lights Of Montreal – Lobot 14.) Extended Werewolf – farm
Both of those are such great songs. Well, I’m going to call it a night, but I have a bunch of Bowie stacked up if you want to listen for a while. I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
