Radio Show 122 Thursday August 13, 2015 9-11PM Eastern US Time WBKM.ORG
Words by Tim Lewis.
I just got back from my local music radio show on internet only WBKM.org. I’ve been working way too many days in a row (one more tomorrow), so I just threw together sets of music from different bands. I thought it came out well, except for that one mistake. Oh well, live radio.
Song before: A Rock Star Bucks A Coffee Shop – Neil Young

intro
From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds of Burlington. We’ve seen lots of cool nights and cool mornings and warm days, but no real heat. There was a really cool sunset tonight but it’s 9pm and totally dark now. I’m going to dedicate this song to everyone who works for a living.
1.) I Got A Job – Maryse Smith 2.) 15 Steps – Maryse Smith 3.) Glory Bound – Maryse Smith
Yes, you guessed it, I’m playing sets of music from a few bands to really go deep and let you see how good they are. Maryse is a great performer, has vividly real lyrics and is always impressive. Burlington always seems to have buskers playing music on Church st all summer long.
4.) Busker – Abbie Morin 5.) Shadowproof – Abbie Morin 6.) Better Half – Abbie Morin
Abbie is playing tomorrow late night at Radio Bean. Soon after, she is hitting the road to get her music out there. Best of luck! OK, let’s go classic Burlington.
7.) Wally Rides The Ferry – Zoot Wilson 8.) Killer Bee Bop – Zoot Wilson 9.) Mystery Blues – Zoot Wilson
Zoot is deservedly a legend in this town. OK, let’s keep the cool mystery theme going.
10.) Mysterious Mystery – Persian Claws 11.) Warm Chills – Persian Claws 12.) Move Through Time – Persian Claws
I just love the super cool sound of the Claws. This next band is playing at Manhattan Pizza and Pub Saturday.
13.) Little French Earthquakes – Phil Yates & The Affiliates 14.) Could You Be The One? – Phil Yates & The Affiliates 15.) Ninjas VS Zombies – Phil Yates
Great stuff from Phil and the guys. Hey, do you know what’s great for killing zombies? Weapons. You know what my favorite weapon is? Rock And Roll.
16.) Rock And Roll Is My Weapon – Ninja Custodian 17.) That’s When I Reach For My Revolver – Ninja Custodian 18.) Las Vegas – Ninja Custodian
I saw Ninja a ton of times at Nectar’s back in the lat ’80’s and early ’90’s. They were always stunning. Now it’s time for the next song on JV, the brilliant debut album from The Mountain Says No.
19.) Long Term Sermon – The Mountain Says No 20.) JC and The Beast – The Mountain Says No 21.) The Bomb – The Mountain Says No
All of those songs are so great. Thanks Mountain!!! This next band have been rocking this town for a decade or more.
22.) Scorned Woman – Dirty Blondes 23.) Oh Dirty Blondes – Dirty Blondes 24.) You Don’t Like Me, Do Ya? – Pinhead
Rats, I thought I had Ornan’s Song lined up. Sorry about that. Let’s continue on through the Pinhead set.
25.) Be A Good Citizen – Pinhead 26.) New Age Woman – Pinhead
If the Wards brought the punk scene to town, Pinhead took it from there, moved it into New Wave and lead the groundwork for the tremendous scene we now have in Burlington. This next band play out a lot and are one of Burlington’s best. Happy yesterday Birthday Eric Olsen.
27.) Edible – Swale 28.) Edible #2 – Swale 29.) Popular Crowd – Swale
Hmmmmm, Swale. OK just enough time for one more set.
30.) Tibbar Tibbar – Black Rabbit 31.) Rejected – Black Rabbit 32.) Sayonara – Black Rabbit
Hmmmm, Black Rabbit. I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
