Press Release by The Paramount Theater.

On Thursday, July 9th the Paramount Theatre announced its’ new 2015-2016 season. Along with a long list of national music acts, comedians, musicals, opera and theater, the Paramount announced a brand new series – the 802 VT Music series.

The Paramount Theatre in Downtown Rutland is proud to celebrate the Vermont music scene with the 802 VT Music Showcase. Kicking off the series on August 2nd (8-02) will be five acts hailing from different parts of the state and representing different genres.

Headlining the first show is the Chad Hollister Band.

The Chad Hollister Band has been evolving and touring the country for over 20 years. Anthony J. Resta (Collective Soul, Elton John, Shawn Mullins) says “Hollister’s music is pure sonic alchemy,” which means it’s damn good in Vermont terms! Chad has opened for Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Tom Petty, as well as has shared the stage with every PHISH member, Merl Saunders, Warren Haynes and Blues Traveller. His music is a voice for the positive and reminds you that life is truly a gift as is the ability to share it through music. http://chadmusic.com/

Chad has released four official recordings and number 5 is in the works with the first single “Breathe” available on iTunes and CDBaby. The live experience is always one to remember, now with a 9 piece band, including horns and percussion sections.

Jatoba

Since their inception in 2009, Jatoba has been playing their unique music for the delighted ears of fans of all ages throughout the Northeast. Jatoba started as an acoustic trio. However, these days they are an ever changing beast with their two founding members, John Jamison and Jason Scaggs, firmly planted in the center. For most of their career they coined their genre “groovegrass” for their bluegrass/ newgrass electronic sounding compositions and improvisations. These days they continue to perfect their craft while branching in new directions, adding the trombone and the fiddle to the instrumentation. With tight vocal harmonies, soulful lyrics and unique compositions, Jatoba is a force of music to be reckoned with. http://jatobamusic.net/

Crazyhearse, based in Middlebury, VT, is a five piece alt-rock band featuring guitar, bass, banjo, keys, and drums. Influences include roots rock, folk punk, and gypsy jazz. Notorious for high-energy shows and infectious melodies, live sets feature original material centered on themes of travel and characters from local folklore. http://www.crazyhearse.net/
