I just got back from my local music radio show on internet only Wbkm Dot Org. I thought of a fun idea and pulled it off pretty well.

Song before: The Old And The Young – MIDLAKE BAND

intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. It’s a cool and snowy night in Burlington. We got 11 inches Wednesday but the roads and sidewalks are pretty passable. Thanks DPW! Tonight I’m going to alternate new and old songs to highlight the great talent in this town. Let’s start with a couple of songs from the soundtrack to some cool underwater Vermont videos. This is Maidstone by I See Fish People on WBKM and this is Burlington’s kind of music.

1.) Maidstone – I See Fish People 2.) Burette’s Green River – I See Fish People 3.) Deal – Bud & Budd ~ The Kind Buds

Great guitar playing on the Dead cover. Lots of people in Vermont still love the Dead and The Buds played a killer version of that. Nice build in the middle! The Fish people CD just came out this week, and is as new as it gets. OK, let’s play another new song. Doug McAllister was in Ninja Custodian a long time ago and is now in California with a new band called Super Music Band.

4.) Not Everything Is About You – Super Music Band 5.) Monkey Business – Ninja Custodian 6.) Under Bright Stars – Alice Austin 7.) Seeds And Stems – The New Siberians

It really has been a while since the Siberians album came out. They should have something new soon, and I think Ryan Power is working on it. Great new song from Alice. That’s Doug singing the classic Ninja song. It was cool to hang out with Ted Pappadopoulos from the Siberians at Manhattan Pizza and Pub last Friday at the Black Rabbit show. Here is the last song on their EP Lipstick And Dynamite that I’m playing all the way through.

8.) Carnage – Black Rabbit 9.) Kick The Can – Cave Bees 10.) Time To Save The World – Carraway 11.) Medula Mamblongatta – Strung Out

I remember seeing them at the Chicken Bone Cafe. That was a while ago. Carraway just put out an excellent new EP. Classic from the Bees who have been in an out of the scene for a long time. Man those Rabbit shows with Jane Boxall Percussion on drums are getting really intense. Here’s a song that came out last year.

12.) Mirrors – Vetica 13.) No More Sex – Pinhead 14.) In Comes The Tide – PossumHaw

Great song from the Waiting and Watching album from earlier this year. Classic song from Pinhead. OK, let’s head back to the ’90’s for a great piece of music.

15.) Poem For Torin/Ethan’s Stoned – Peg Tassey MUSIC 16.) Eliza – Alpenglow 17.) Let It Shine – Rachel Brown

Rachel used to unleash her beautiful and powerful voice on us back in the ’90’s. Great new song from Alpenglow’s Chapel EP. Here’s another new song that I just love.

18.) 40 Days – Better Things 19.) Politicians In My Eyes – Death World Wide 20.) Comm To Space – ROUGH FRANCIS

Francis just re-released the Maximum Soul Power Album this year on Riot House Records. Death was their fathers band, then Dannis and Bobby were in Lambsbread playing reggae when I got into the music scene. They rocked a bit harder before that. Up next is another classic rocker from the ’90’s.

21.) Decide – David L. Jarvis 22.) Before The Night – Swale 23.) Let Up – Construction Joe

It’s been a while since I thought of Joe and that is a great song. I love that Swale song! I want to dedicate this next song to the magnificent Joe Adler who just lost his father. Somehow I just know he’s up there looking down at Joe with lots of love.

24.) Brothers And Sisters – Joe Adler & The Rangers Of Danger 25.) Extended Werewolf – farm

There’s only so much time indeed. I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we.

(yea, not my best ending!!)

Hey guys, Tim here for one more song. It’s a Fish song as always. He’s just played some killer shows and has some sold out ones coming up. Here’s the first song on the new album, A Feast Of Consequences. This is Perfume River by Fish, and even though he’s from Scotland, this is Burlington’s Kind Of Music on WBKM.

Song after: Perfume River – Fish
