I just got back from my local music radio show on internet only Wbkm Dot Org. It had a nice groove.

intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. It’s a beautiful fall evening in Burlington. Let’s start with a band who used to play in town and have a new album done, but not yet in my hands. This is from their first ep. This is Jet Pilot High by The Red Telephone on WBKM, and this is Burlington’s Kind of Music.

1.) Jet Pilot High – The Red Telephone 2.) 1965 – The New Siberians 3.) Satellite – Guster

Ryan Miller played a set last Friday at Radio Bean in between Swale sets. He played that song on acoustic guitar, talked Joe Adler into playing drums, and taught Amanda Gustafson the keyboard riff. It was a fun time watching it come together. Great song from the Siberians, who should have some new songs soon. Yea! I loved Swale’s sets last Friday. Here is another one from their new album The Next Instead.

4.) Before The Night – Swale 5.) Cats Were Born – And The Kids 6.) Mirror Mirror – Joe Adler & The Rangers Of Danger

Great rocker from Joe’s new album. And The Kids played the show after Swale’s second set and brought a dedicated crowd. Keep an eye on them. I may head to The Monkey House on Saturday to check out this band.

7.) Shut Up – Gorgon 8.) Cookie Jar – Astrocat 9.) The Process – Pinhead

Classic Burlington band. Astrocat are playing the Monkey show too and that song sounded like it would go great into the Pinhead. Here is the next song from the Anachronist ep Row.

10.) Mary – Anachronist 11.) Mary – Plan B 12.) Tastes Like Nothing – Zola Turn

Zola and Plan are classic Burlington bands. Lots of great rock in both Marys. Let’s quieten things down a little.

13.) A Quiet Pun – Joe Adler 14.) You Are Not The Photograph – Swale 15.) Hollywood – Lendway

Great song by a classic Burlington band. Killer Eric Olsen guitar work in the Swale song. I listened to the whole Roots In The Rabbit Hole album today and loved this one.

16.) Calypskango – Binger 17.) Grounded – Invisible jet 18.) WalkingInCircles – Raq

I love that song. I was dancing around the studio and had the volume cranked. Great stuff from Jet. This next band are hoping to get on a cruise or open for a great bands festival, or both.

19.) Endless (pt 2) – Elephants of Scotland 20.) Afraid Of Sunlight – Marillion 21.) Going For The One – Yes (official)

I could hear Elephants open for the 2015 Marillion weekend, or play on the 2015 Cruise to the Edge with Yes, and lots of other prog bands. Links below if you would like to vote for them. Yes was live from 2004 in Essex Jct, and Marillion once played club Toast as a trio. Since we’re a little spiritual, and out of town anyway…

22.) It’s Just A Ride – Bill Hicks (AMERICAN The Bill Hicks Story) 23.) Buttonz – Binger

Well, I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
