Waking Windows in Winooski
Words And Photos By Morgan Laurie-Day
This marks the fourth year of Waking Windows in Winooski, Vermont, a four day music and arts festival that takes place at multiple venues in down town Winooski. Put together by Angioplasty Media there's music for all kinds. Local acts like Quiet Lion, Get A Grip, Gorgon, Tyler Daniel Bean, and Tricky Pat graced stages at The Monkey House, oak 45, The Mule Bar and multiple other locations.
There was never a dull moment as I bar hopped around the streets of The Noosk. Sound poured out of every corner, sometimes in places I least expected. Like MLC Bakeshop which was packed to capacity with local kids listening to bands I had never heard of from in state and out. Banned Books, Pilot Supreme, Ermine Coat, Feral Jenny and Dungeon Jungle (just to name a few.) It was so packed I couldn't even get inside to snap pictures.
National acts like Foam Castles, JAW GEMS and Fat Creeps could also be found on every stage. I'm not doing justice to the amount of music that moved through this little town last weekend. I can't wait for next year.
