intro
From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. Today is the first day of spring and we’re celebrating with a foot of snow on the ground. This next band have their new album done and two songs released. This is a brand new song called Endless Part 1 by Elephants of Scotland on WBKM, and this is Burlington’s Kind Of Music.
1.) Endless (pt 1) – Elephants of Scotland 2.) Joyless – Swale 3.) One More Sunset – Violette Ultraviolet
VU just put out a new album called Exiles. They had it available to download for free, but I had to pay a little when I bought it today. The Swale song is from an album that’s just about to come out, and so is the Elephant’s song. Now it’s time for the next song on Dancing With The Big Guy
4.) Boredom – Ninja Custodian 5.) Rocket Surgery – BE AGGRESSIVE 6..) Waltzes With Wolves – Lee Corey Oswald 7.) The Goldfields – Choke Up 8.) Lost and Found – Dented Personality
I noticed Be Aggressive were coming up from White River for a show on Sunday. I worked until 7, got to the show at 8 and loved the 6-7 songs I saw them play. Portland Oregon’s Lee Corey Oswald followed with a rocking set. Boston’s Choke Up followed with a real punk rock set and Dented Personality, from Burlington, nicely closed the night. After that I went to see Rebecca Rogers and Diane Sullivan play in Everybody’s Favorite Irish Drinking Songs Band. OK, enough new stuff. Let’s keep rocking, but head back a bit.
9.) Bulletproof Vest – Zola Turn 10.) The Mountain Says No – The Mountain Says No 11.) Sexy Flowers – Peg Tassey MUSIC and the Velvet Ovum Band 12.) Ornan’s Song – The Dirty Blondes
Becky and Diane sing with both the Blondes and the Drinking songs band. I wanted to play the Peg song in honor of it being spring. Mountain are playing at Radio Bean tomorrow and they’ve rocked every time I’ve seen them. I just love Zola. At the top of the show I said I downloaded two Elephants songs. If you thought I’d make it through the show without playing both, you haven’t been listening.
13.) A Different Machine – Elephants of Scotland
I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
