I just got home from my 48th local music radio show on internet only WBKM.ORG. I though it was a nice showcase of Burlington in the moment and in the glorious past.

intro
From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. It’s a beautiful winter night in Burlington. It snowed all day yesterday but the crews have it in giant piles on Church Street, so it’s easy walking. Tonight let’s start with a band who are about to start a small tour. This is a song called Solitude by a band called Alpenglow on WBKM, and this is Burlington’s kind of music.
1.) Solitude – Alpenglow 2.) Spiral – Strung Out 3.) Thinner Than Water – Somah
The best part of this gig is pulling out old albums and finding gems like the Somah song, and remembering how much fun it was whenever Strung Out played Spiral. Thanks to Mike Luoma, on Monday I went to a new music venue, Arts Riot, that is in a building I worked in a long time ago. I met one of Burlington’s great artists while working there. Here is a song by the band that played Monday night, and we’ll talk about the rest on the other side.
4.) Song For Zula – Phosphorescent 5.) Check The Gravity – Wide Wail 6.) Cancer – Swale
When I worked at the Cheese Outlet, there was a sublet bakery and we sometimes used their equipment and chatted. I used to chat with Amanda Gustafson and when she told me she was joining a band, I had to go check out Wide Wail, again and again and again. They went away, so now I see her in Swale as often as I can. Next up is the next song on Maximum Soul Power.
7.) Staring Out My Window – ROUGH FRANCIS 8.) Hit – Blue Button 9.) I’m With You – Ninja Custodian
I love Ninja’s take on that song. BB are playing a show Valentines day at The Monkey House. There’s lots of other music that day, but I think I have to go that way. All I’ve got lined up this week is seeing Rush cover band Lotus Land at Higher Ground with my brother. Rough Francis always rock! I missed them last Saturday, when I went to Phoenix bookstore to listen to authors reading original sci-fi, including Luoma, who was the only one to read with each character’s voice. I then went to Club Metronome for Rock Lotto. Four bands hooked up at 10am and wrote songs and performed them at 6pm. Raph Worrick did a great job with his band.
10.) Hasta Manana Monsieur – Ray Fork 11.) If The Sea Won’t Rise – Sean Altrui
That’s just a great song from Sean. Well, hasta manana. I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
