Radio Show 44 Thursday January 9, 2014 9-10pm Eastern US Time WBKM.ORG

I just got back from my 44th local music internet only radio show on WBKM. I had a bunch of new music to load in, but had a problem after the second disc (still stuck in the computer). I improvised. I’m still feeling a bit off or I would be at Manhattan Pizza seeing Kairos and Wave of the Future, I think Shark Victim would have finished their set before my show ended.

Song before: Moongirl – Stellastarr

intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the sounds of Burlington. Let’s go way back to the 1970″s for I’m Ready by the N-Zones on WBKM and this is Burlington’s kind of music.

1.) I’m Ready – The N-Zones 2.) On My Way – Hover 3.) Voodoo Camero – Wide Wail 4.) Folsom Prison Blues – Zoot Wilson

Zoot is a legend in this town. He did great stuff on his own and with the N-Zones. Wide Wail rocked us hard for a few years. Brad Searles is a great guy and Hover always sounded intriguing. When I was very young, my parents took me to Memorial Auditorium to see Johnny Cash. I will always remember that. This next artist has been playing her heart out for years. She has been writing great songs and recently made a very wonderful video. This song is appropriate for the cold weather in Burlington tonight.

5.) Shiver – Sarah Blacker 6.) Naomi’s Back – Fire The Cannons 7.) White Lizard – Shark Victim

SV are likely just about to hit the stage at Manhattan Pizza. If I wasn’t here, that’s where I would be. FTC used to rock out town like crazy!!! I love all of the effort Sarah put into the song and video. Next, let’s play the last song from To A Star In The Yard.

8.) Blink And We Miss – Alice Austin 9.) The Day You Left This Earth – Split Tongue Crow 10.) Think I’ll Stay – Great Western

Love seeing GW play that song. They really let it rock at the end when they do it live. Great song from STC. Next up is a band with one of the best names ever.

11.) See Me On My Way – Superhuman Happiness 12.) Walkingincircles – Raq 13.) A New Kind Of Blue – The Cush

Love the power and grace of the Cush. Raq recently played at Nectar’s. It’s time for me to be on my way. I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
