Musician John Powell kicked it at Big Heavy for 'Rocket Shop,' our local music radio hour on 105.9FM The Radiator. You can connect with John Powell through his online music magazine, Angelica Music, an awesome resource for any music lover wanting info on local artists, upcoming events, and album reviews. John is happy to present A Night Out With Angelica Music Series, hosted by Diversity Studios at 115 College Street in Burlington. Diversity Studios is a multi-functional space frequently home to comedy, acting and music classes. The series is happening on the first Saturday of every month, with doors at 8 P.M. and the show at 9 P.M. Ages 21 and up are welcome, BYOB. For more details on A Night Out With Angelica as well as a folk festival John is organizing, contact him at john@angelica-music.com

John has been working on his third solo album as as singer-songwriter. He also has collaborated on nine albums with Ben Thyng, a fellow songwriter from Richmond. John plays guitar and harmonica, taking cues from classic 90s groups like Third Eye Blind, Marcy Playground and Spin Doctors, as well as legends like James Brown and Bob Dylan. When it comes to writing his own music, John says: "I try to push myself lyrically. I don't want to write a song anyone else could have written. I want my music to be original, narrative, poetic, personal and universal."

Thanks again to John for hanging out on 'Rocket Shop' on 105.9 FM The Radiator, every Wednesday night from 8 to 9 P.M. Be sure to check out A Night Out With Angelica Music Series at Diversity Studios in Burlington on the first Saturday of every month!
