Zack duPont and Pat Melvin Duo Play 'Tazday Twilight Blues Show'

Burlington singer-song writer Zack duPont has teamed up with another local musician, Pat Melvin, to release a new album, 'Duo.'  Zack and Pat stopped by the Tazday Twilight Blues show in the flesh to play us a few new tunes, catch up and get psyched for their upcoming cross-country tour.

'Duo' has a mellow sound with Zack on guitar and lead vocals and Pat on upright bass and vocals. The two work together with echoes, layering harmonies, and a melodic playfulness between their instruments. Listeners were lucky enough to hear five new tracks off 'Duo,' including "Watercolor," "I Just Know," and "Where I Belong."  Pat and Zack will celebrate their release and kick off the tour on Wednesday, March 23rd, at Parima in Burlington at 7:30 P.M.  Don't miss this chance to send off the duo on their journey in epic VT style!

Zack duPont has contributed his guitar, singing and songwriting skills to many a musical project. He and Pat connected when Zack proposed that they joined forces back in January. "Melvin plays with everyone around town, and he's earned a reputation as a fine bass player, so why not?" says Zack.

Pat and Zack's 18 gig, 18 city tour is their first cross-country trip, which as relatively unknown national artists comes with challenges. DuPont's website elaborates: "There is no tour manager, there is no agent, there is no record company. Just a couple of kids chasing the American dream. Check out the dates and tell your friends that some fine, Vermont musicians are coming through your towns and may need a place to crash!" Goes to show how hard work and talent can get you traveling the country and playing your music!  The tour will provide footage for a documentary "to give folks an inside look at what life is like for a couple self-sufficient musicians on the road."
