Meet The Radiator's iPhone App
WOMM-LP 105.9FM 'The Radiator,' Burlington's community radio station, can now be heard on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad anywhere with the new free Radiator app available at the iTunes store. 'The Radiator', Burlington's licensed low power non-commercial radio station was launched in 2007 and is managed by Big Heavy World volunteers, and is host to over 70 local DJs. The Radiator is host to all types of shows, ranging from hardcore punk and World music, to talk shows about disabilties, politics, and Vermont authors.
The Radiator is sponsored through donations and underwriting (on air mentions of businesses). Both Big Heavy Founder Jim Lockridge and Lee Anderson of Radio Bean are staunch and longtime supporters of Burlington's eclectic music community, and built the volunteer-run station in order to represent local art, music, and thought.
The Radiator also streams online in Flash, QuickTime and several MP3 speeds. The new iPhone application was designed by John Fricker of Ashland, Oregon http://www.johnfricker.com, and made possible by Burlington local Brian Bittman who created the audio streams that feed the application. The application is available on a free download at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-radiator/id385611512?mt=8
