United Way Days of Caring Luv Up BHW Archive Building!

We spent last Thursday with about twenty students from the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center (Middlebury) as they volunteered during the United Way of Addison County's "Days of Caring" event. They came to Starksboro to spend the day working on our L.S. Gordon Store archive building, putting most of a first coat of primer on it, getting it ready to button-up for the winter with carpentry and cleaning, making the flower gardens in front ready for a load of autumn bulbs and transplants, and getting the property cleared of brush piles and looking GREAT. They all worked hard and were a blast to be around - they brought some high energy and good humor to it, and their school leaders worked along side them, all making a huge difference in the course of the afternoon.
