Big Heavy World Awarded Department of Labor Grant

As part of the President’s stimulus package, the Vermont Department of Labor has received American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds for Summer Youth Employment programs. This money is meant to go towards youth who have barriers to employment and are eligible for Workforce Investment Act funds. Out of over 80 proposals, Big Heavy World was successful with its application to employ a total of six teens from the Chittenden and Addison County regions. The positions will vary across the interests of the youth employed and will give opportunities for diverse professional skill building to improve work readiness.
