FREE CHARLIE MESSING HOLIDAY MP3 SINGLE Download Charlie Messing's holiday single "'Tis the Season" from the BHW CD Giveaway page at http://www.bigheavyworld.com/giveaways.html. Here's a description from the man himself: "We bring you an original Christmas tune, reflective of both tradition and the world of the present. Based on the seasonal tunes of yore, we bring a touch of irony and postmodern wistfulness to the holiday repertoire. Though we face the issue of whether some will find one line offensive (If youre so goddam nice, no one shall you eer despise), we intend by this line to convey a quest for sincerity, and suggest that the holier-than-thou supporters of the Christmas season may be reminded that they should follow their own advice. (In other words, if youre charitable at Christmas, you should be that way all the time.) The word goddam, in this context, merely conveys a heartfelt involvement with the judgemental - it is not meant to be profane in any way. We are delighted to amuse those who are amused, and we are saying to everyone that, though there is economic pressure to commercialize Christmas, there is an abiding spirituality in this holiday which challenges hypocrisy and champions sincerity. We hope you get a kick out of it." The four-song CD single is available at http://www.vermontmusicshop.com. The single features another song from the upcoming album, a previously unreleased version of one of the songs on BIT, and a demo version of one from the new album. The album, What Happened?, will be hopping into your CD player late November. A joyful season to you all."
